Our story began like any other love story. We met, fell in love, married, and bought a house. We were excitedly preparing for the birth of our first child, a son we named Bravery. But our lives were turned upside down when we found ourselves unexpectedly giving birth to Bravery four months early.
Despite the endless prayers during our 4-day hospital stay, Bravery was stillborn on May 4th, 2017.
We were devastated, lost, and heartbroken. It was a pain we could never have imagined. We struggled to find meaning and purpose in our loss in the days, weeks, and months that followed.
But out of that pain, we were determined to create something positive that would honor Bravery's memory and help others going through similar experiences. On September 9th, 2017, Bravery's original due date, we launched Bravery's Foundation.
Our mission is to provide support, resources, and hope to families who have experienced high-risk pregnancies, stillbirths, or infant loss. We want to ensure that no family has to endure the pain of losing a child alone. We believe that healing comes in many forms, and for us, being able to give to others is our way of honoring Bravery's life and finding purpose in our loss.
